PvP Mode Mechanics Explained

Before forming a team and analyzing possible synergies, it is essential to master the basic rules of a Player vs Player (PvP) match.

Team Roles

In each encounter, your team is assigned one of the following two roles:

  • Attacking Team (Red)
  • Defending Team (Blue)

Positions and Targeting

A team consists of 5 Nikkes, each occupying a numbered position from 1 to 5, starting from the left.

Targeting of opposing Nikkes varies depending on your team's role and the weapon type of your units. This is a fundamental principle to understand.

Targeting in Attack

  • All Nikkes target enemy position 1.
  • Exception: Nikkes equipped with a Sniper Rifle target enemy position 5.

Legend: In attack (red), P1, P2 (SG), P3 (SG), and P4 target the enemy P1 (in blue). Only the Sniper (P5 SR) deviates towards the enemy P5 (in blue).

Targeting in Defense

  • All Nikkes target enemy position 1.
  • Exception: Nikkes equipped with a Shotgun target enemy position 5.

Weapon Types and Area Damage

Most weapons attack a single target, with the notable exception of Rocket Launchers which deal area-of-effect (AoE) damage.

  • Rocket Launchers:
    • Generally: They hit enemy positions P1 and P2.
    • If Taunted: If the Nikke equipped with a rocket launcher is taunted by a Nikke in position P2, the AoE damage will hit positions P1, P2, and P3.

Note on Specific Abilities

It is important to note that certain Nikkes possess unique skills that can modify these basic targeting and damage rules.

Burst

The "Burst" (or special skill) is activated automatically once the corresponding gauge is charged.

  • Activation Order: Nikkes use their Burst skills sequentially, from the leftmost position (1) to the rightmost position (5).
  • Activation Timing:
    • Basic Rule: Activating the Burst as soon as possible is often advantageous, but it is a beginner's approach.
    • Advanced Approach: Depending on your team's synergies and the enemy team's composition, it may be strategically more relevant to trigger the Burst with a slight, or even a very long, delay.
    • Note: It is not mandatory to activate the Burst to win an encounter.
